Lepiota clypeolaria

Common name: Shaggy Stalked Parasol
Spore Print: White
Habitat: Grows on the ground in the forests / mountains of Colorado.
Edibility: Poisonous
Comments: This mushroom has a characteristic smooth round 'eye' at the center of the cap. The cap margin and stalk also have a 'shaggy' appearance, thus the common name of Shaggy Stalked Parasol. I find these occasionally around my property up in Bailey CO and most of them are rather small. Although not edible, I find it to be a very interesting and distinct mushroom.
